Seascape Painting: Crossroads

Hello Reader,

Welcome back to Occipicco Art community. :) Here is what is going on. As summer is approaching, I kept thinking about another sea theme and I decided to look for a seascape reference photo for my next big painting project. I noticed that I would create seascapes in between working on a series. This is my way of stepping away from a big project to work on other paintings.

There were some days where I was feeling stuck on this painting. I know it sounds weird, right. But today (August 25) there was a spark when I was looking at my previous unfinished paintings that I was working on before I worked on the "Dream Catcher" painting series. With is painting, I felt like I was having an inner conflict with myself. I was feeling all over the place: where I left off, how I want to pick myself back up to finish working on this painting. So, when I picked up my brush and a tube of blue and titanium white paint, I thought of using a lot more water to create a rhythm for the ocean water so I felt more calm. At that moment I was thinking about when I spent time at several beaches over the summer with my friends. I hope to inspire other artists who feel like they are stuck. This is a reminder not to give up when you feel stuck. You will be able to pick yourself back up and start experimenting. Going through this part of the journey is a lot of trial and error. I realized that when you take a step back on your previous paintings, you start to feel a spark of why you started creating something in the first place. Just take something small that creates a spark within yourself.

Thank you for joining my newsletter. I hope you will enjoy this latest seascape painting so far!!
